NOTE: this episode is geared towards sole parenting where only one parent is involved with raising a child. I apologize for any parent who feels attacked by this episode.
As the title states how non-parents give advice to parents, especially single parents on how to raise children. And at times on what the parents are doing wrong...it is amazing how more people are not strangled after making such comments.

It is tough trying to fill both roles when you are one parent. I was given a book to help me through and it provided 10 + 1 tips to being a Dad...good advice however there are a few key ingredients the book was missing - consistency and love. :)

Have you looked at someone who is worth millions or even billions and think that it could never be you? Have you looked at someone living in absolute poverty and can't even imagine living their life or even see yourself living in poverty? Both of these thoughts are based on what you believe that you are worth. Funny how a belief so strong and ingrained in your soul can determine who you are. Yes there are those who fear being poor and become poor...funny thing they put so much energy into being poor that it happened (but this is for another podcast). Chat soon! Michelle

So read the book "50 Shades of Grey" and it totally resonated with me in a lot of ways. For those of you who do not know about the book it is about, in my summary, finding the balance between your personal light and dark side. I find that for myself understanding and embracing my dark side has always been a struggle since honestly I do not really know and understand it fully...I hope this episode sheds some insight to your own dark side.

I will be blogging about her treatment that I will be trialing out this summer and if you know anyone who would be interested please feel free to pass this information along. Thank you.

I went on a real date for the first time in a very long time - you know those events where the guy asks the girl if she would like to accompany him to a show and dinner. The elusive traditional date. Well I went on one the other night and one of my girlfriend's gave me some advice - well rules that I must follow to have a successful first date - I broke most of them...oops. While prepping mentally and physically for this date I talk about why women, especially modern women, need to be pampered and why it is a great benefit for our dates. =) Hope you enjoy this episode!

Now I am all about aboriginal rights to the land, self government, revenue sharing etc. I am very troubled when aboriginal ancestry is applied to the criminal code. Mental illness due to drug and alcohol use, poor upbringing, abuse and so forth are good arguments to keep someone out of jail and get them help. I do understand that First Nations in Canada have been wronged on many occasions over the last 150 years but should this history be used to keep people who do wrong out of jail? What do you think?
